The ubiquitous T-Ring or T2 mount. This item has a fine M42 x 0.75 female thread internally (also known as the 'T-thread'), and a M42 x 1.0 male thread on the other, sometimes called 'Pentax M42'. T-Rings are available for all makes and model of 35mm photographic camera, these being universally supplied with proprietary bayonet connection. The M42 x 1.0 thread is popular for astronomical applications, examples being the faceplates of Starlight Xpress CCD cameras, and True Technology flip-mirror units, as not only can it conveniently connect items, but allows rotational adjustment through small locking set-screws.
