NJP-160 MOUNT - RA WORM ADJUSTMENT

REMOVE GUARD COVER FROM SPUR GEAR END OF  RA WORM SHAFT

The cover is secured with two cross-head screws as can be seen

SLACKEN OFF BOLT SECURING RA WORM BLOCK AT SPUR GEAR END USING 10mm SPANNER

Only slacken the bolt one half to one full turn - just enough to free the block

SLACKEN OFF THE RA WORM BLOCK AT THE ENCODER END USING 10mm SPANNER

This should be slackened off slightly more so that you can move the worm block at this end by hand

FIRMLY PRESS AGAINST THE ENCODER TO PUSH THE WORM AGAINST THE WORMWHEEL

The other end of the worm will be held by the spur gears pressing against each other

TIGHTEN THE RA WORM BLOCK BOLT AT THE ENCODER END ONLY - DO NOT DO UP TOO TIGHTLY

This means that the tightness of  the mesh can still be eased if it is too tight

SWITCH ON THE DRIVE AND RUN THE RA MOTOR IN FAST SLEW IN BOTH DIRECTIONS

Run the motor for a few seconds only in each direction. This will ensure that the mesh is not

too tight between the spur gears, while the worm remains in full mesh with the wormwheel

TIGHTEN UP BOTH RA WORM SECURING BOLTS FIRMLY. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN

REPLACE GUARD COVER OVER SPUR GEARS
